Bravante 2013 Trio 750 ML
The 2013 TRIO is an Estate Grown blend of the three red Bordeaux grape varieties we grow- Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. This wine is the best of both worlds; accessible now, while still having great Howell Mountain structure and backbone for further aging.
Winemaker's Notes: Offering a bright nose of berries and plums with hints of crushed herbs, and wild mushrooms, this fullbodied red blend has a big palate of summer berries and rich cassis, with hints of garrigue wild thyme and dried lavendar. The tannins are big and smooth, and rich flavors carry into the long luscious finish.
A tight and energetic mountain red with currant and floral character on the nose and palate. Medium to full body, firm and silky tannins and a delicious finish. Fresh. A blend of 40 per cent cabernet sauvignon, 32 per cent merlot and 28 per cent cabernet franc. Better in 2020, but delicious all the same. 93 Points, James Suckling - November 19, 2018
This tastes more like a Howell Mountain wine than a specific variety; in fact, it’s three: cabernet sauvignon, merlot and cabernet franc grown at two estate vineyards—Stone Ridge, a southwest-facing hillside of volcanic rock, and Black Oak, with cabernet sauvignon on a ridgetop and franc facing north. It’s a powerful wine, with concentrated blue fruit and black raspberry flavors. While tannins carry the firmness of the mountain’s volcanic rock, they also have a mellow side, so their brisk intensity doesn’t get in the way of the fruit, supporting it and extending its flavors for minutes after each sip.
